Trip details
Margarites Valley
A trip through time and history… Our path starts in the small village of Margarites well-known for its history in ceramics.
We follow the path along the valley to the tiny chapel of Agia Paraskevi decorated with old frescoes and arches. The path takes us up to the ridge and the small village of Ano Tripodo. From here we follow the small road downhill taking in panoramic views until we reach one of the oldest olive trees on the island! The old village buildings of Kato Tripodo display traditional architecture and many secrets of local, village life.
From here the old path, lined with ancient carob trees, leads us back to Margarites, where we find out more about the ancient pottery techniques by following a hands-on demonstration by one of the local potters!
