Trip details
Argiroupolis – Kato Poros
Starting from the main square, we gradually make our way through the village of Argiroupolis on cobbled alleyways and paths admiring the architecture of the Venetian buildings. The old, paved path we follow takes us down to the small chapel of the 5 Holy Virgins built into the rock. Alongside it, there are many rock-cut Roman tombs and huge plane trees, some almost 2000 yrs old!
Our clearly marked path above the river leads us towards the little village of Kato Poros, where we pass through the picturesque narrow streets. Along dirt tracks and ancient ‘kalderimia’ (cobbled paths) we make our way back up to the top of the hill from where we are treated to stunning views to the sea and mountains. From here we return to Argiroupolis where our hike ends.
