The weather in Crete is generally mild all year round. Spring is considered the best time of year to appreciate wild flowers and plants as the weather is usually warm (sunny with some clouds and some days of rain) from approx March-end of May and everywhere is still green. Summer months (July and August especially) are often quite hot for walking (temps +/- 30-35degrees Celcius). Autumn: September is often cooler and ideal for hiking until mid-October (usually). Winter: November-January/February are our colder months with the last 2 being the wettest and the ones that bring snow to our high mountains.
