FAQ
On all single and multi-day trips, the approximate hiking hours are mentioned for each route. Please note, these do not include the duration of stops/pauses along each hike. Times may vary slightly, depend on the hiking pace of each participant, number of pauses made and also on weather conditions (heat/wind factor).
It is very important that each participant has suitable footwear on all the hikes.
Closed shoes (preferably ankle-high boots) are the best for support, especially on multi-day hiking programmes.

On single-day trips, closed, hiking/sports shoes are also suitable.
Please note that shoes must be already worn-in, as new shoes can often soon become uncomfortable.

The weather in Crete is generally mild all year round.
Spring is considered the best time of year to appreciate wild flowers and plants as the weather is usually warm (sunny with some clouds and some days of rain) from approx March-end of May and everywhere is still green. Summer months (July and August especially) are often quite hot for walking (temps +/- 30-35degrees Celcius). Autumn: September is often cooler and ideal for hiking until mid-October (usually). Winter: November-January/February are our colder months with the last 2 being the wettest and the ones that bring snow to our high mountains.
